چکیده

To measure the strain, the tissue motion is tracked over a cardiac cycle using a speckle tracking algorithm. Similar to MRI tagging, speckle tracking follows features within the image as they move. Each sub-region of the ROI is divided into blocks, which allows the speckle structure in each block to be tracked. The measured deformation for each sub-region is a weighted combination of the displacements from each of the blocks. The weighting gives greater weight to endocardial blocks than to epicardial blocks. The strain is then calculated from the per-region deformation at the endocardial border. Ultrasound

Automated quantification of myocardial ischemia and wall motion defects by use of cardiac SPECT polar mapping and 4-dimensional surface rendering.

SPECT of cardiac perfusion and blood pools provides ungated 3-dimensional and gated 4-dimensional (4D) datasets of the ventricular myocardium. Modern reconstruction and review software is used to reorient the transverse thoracic slices into cardiac short-axis slices. Several validated algorithms are used to analyze these data. These programs segment out the left ventricle, determine the apical ...

Automated quantification of myocardial perfusion based on segmentation and non-rigid registration of contrast-enhanced cardiac magnetic resonance images

Introduction Quantification of myocardial perfusion from cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) images relies on manual tracing of myocardial regions of interest (ROIs) and their repositioning frame-by-frame throughout the contrast-enhanced image sequence. Additionally, out-of-plane motion due to patient’s respiration frequently requires that myocardial ROIs to be redrawn. This tedious and potentially...

Automated Quantitative Analysis of Cardiac Medical Images

OF THE DISSERTATION Automated Quantitative Analysis of Cardiac Medical Images by Xiaowei Ding Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science University of California, Los Angeles, 2015 Professor Demetri Terzopoulos, Chair Clinical medicine often demands the quantitative analysis of medical images. This has traditionally been accomplished through the careful manual tracing and labeling of imaged anato...

"Motion-frozen" display and quantification of myocardial perfusion.

UNLABELLED Gated myocadial perfusion SPECT (MPS) incorporates functional and perfusion information of the left ventricle (LV). To improve the image quality and accuracy of gated MPS we propose to eliminate the influence of cardiac LV motion in the display and quantification by a novel "motion-frozen" (MF) technique. METHODS Three-dimensional LV contours were identified on images of the indivi...

Impact of PET - CT motion correction in minimising the gross tumour volume in non-small cell lung cancer

AbstractObjective: To investigate the impact of respiratory motion on localization, and quantification lung lesions for the Gross Tumour Volume utilizing an in-house developed Auto3Dreg programme and dynamic NURBS-based cardiac-torso digitised phantom (NCAT). Methods: Respiratory motion may result in more than 30% underestimation of the SUV values of lung, liver and kidney tumour lesions. The m...
